什麼是國際文憑課程?
國際文憑課程全名為 International Baccalaureate(簡稱IB),是由國際文憑組織(IBO)提供給全世界學生的學程。這套學習系統一開始是為了外交官子女及經常轉換就學環境的學生所設計,希望藉由課程讓學生培養全球化的思考方式、素養與能力。
這些學生能順利銜接各國學制。IB課程依年齡及學習發展分為四個階段,分別為:
- 小學階段(Primary Year Programme,簡稱PYP)
- 中學階段(Middle Year Programme,簡稱MYP)
- 大學預科課程(Diploma Programme,簡稱DP)
- 職前訓練課程(Career Programme,簡稱CP)

你們學校為什麼要引進國際文憑課程(IBDP)?
本校立校初期即以國際為藍圖,主要由於本校位於國門之都的桃園航空城,附近又有捷運站等交通便利的地理優勢,故本校以國際教育為核心理念,透過第二外語課程的導入,拓展學生的外語能力。
然後校十年,又適逢108課綱之變革,在本校朱元隆校長帶領下,重新思考國際教育的意義後,更深入理解教育應從課程中培養的能力著手。而國際文憑課程恰好是以探究式、概念性的學習方法來培養學生的素養與能力,透過引進國際文憑課程,提供桃園地區的學生另一種學習態度與另一種學習的可能性。

你們的國際文憑課程如何規劃?課程內容與普通班有什麼不同?
本校的國際文憑課程採用國際文憑組織(IBO)為16-19歲學生所設計的兩年制大學預科課程(簡稱DP課程)。然因為台灣高中課程為三年制,故本校IB班與海攬班學生在10年級(高一)以108課綱為骨架,採用IB授課與評量模式,協助學生習慣IB課程內容並培養學生核心素養與自學能力,至11、12年級(高二-高三)則全面實施DP課程。
DP課程為兩年制課程,學生需於兩年內修滿6科主修課程與3項核心課程,修課內容多元且著重探究與批判思考。
DP課程共分為六大學科領域,各領域課程階有標準程度科目(Standard Level,簡稱SL)及高級程度科目(Hihj Level,簡稱HL)。
SL須選修3科,每科修課時間兩年內須達150小時以上;HL須選修3科,每科修課詞間兩年內須達240小時以上。

國際文憑課程(IBDP)的評量制度為何?
校內評量
- 評量方式多元,教師依各科綱要規範訂定評量內容,如口頭報告、田野調查、科學實驗、藝術展示、文學論述分析等。
- 機制:各科內部評量由任課老師指導、審查是否遵守學術誠實原則後進行評分並上傳至IB成績系統,由IBO指定的外部審查員(Moderator)進行確認或必要的分數調整。
- 比重:約為20%-30%,依IB各科綱要規範訂定。
- 每學期有期中及期末考,分為形成性評量及總結性評量兩部份給分。評量內容及標準由各科老師自行訂定。
外部評量
- 每年五月舉行全球大會考,會考於校內進行,然試題及考試規範均遵循IBO公告辦理,閱卷亦由IBO統一處理。
- 比重:約為70%-80%,依IB各科綱要規範訂定。

就讀國際文憑課程可以拿到哪些畢業證書呢?
學生若完成國際文憑課程的修業要求即可拿到IB文憑及大園國際高中畢業證書。然因IB課程難度頗高,部分學生可能無法順利取得IB文憑,然只要其學分轉換後符合本校學生畢業標準,即可取得大園高中之畢業證書。
升學管道

IB班及海攬班的升學管道有哪些?
▶國內:
由於IB班及海攬班皆實施國際文憑課程,評量機制與一般學生不同,故不得參與繁星推薦。而其他國內升學管道如特殊選才、個人申請、分科測驗(指考)等皆可報名,然因課程規劃不同,故學測、分科測驗等考試內容須由學生自行準備。
▶國外:
本校提供各方機構、專業人士及生涯輔導教師,就各國升學管道進行宣傳與輔導,但申請管道及所需文件,由於各國及各校規定皆不相同,學生須自行準備。

就讀國際文憑課程對我/我的小孩未來申請國外大學有幫助嗎?
本校辦理國際文憑課程並非以鼓勵學生申請國外大學為初衷,亦非辦學的首要目標。然就現況而言,就讀國際文憑課程且能順利取得文憑的學生在申請國外大學時仍具備相當程度的優勢,包括IB課程採英語授課,學生之英語聽說讀寫能力能有紮實的訓練;且DP文憑取得不易,許多國外大學不僅接受直接以DP文憑申請入學,甚至有些科目可以抵大學的學分等。
但各國升學制度不一,實際情況仍須視各大學入學要求評估,本校會盡量提供有意願申請國外大學之學生相關升學資訊與輔導作為。
轉入轉出

學生進入IB班或海攬班後,可以轉到普通班嗎?學分可否與普通班互相轉換?
▶ IB班學生可轉至普通班就讀,但海攬班學生因為身分限制,不得轉入普通班。
▶IB班的學分可以與普通班互相轉換,學校將提供學分轉換對照表供學生參考。
但因課程規劃的不同,不足之學分須由學生自行補修。

學生進入IB班或海攬班後可以轉學嗎?
可以。
然學生若要轉出至其他學校,其學分認定以轉入學校認定為主, 學生與家長須審慎評估並自行向轉入學校確認。

若學生高一就讀普通班,高二時能轉入IB班或海攬班嗎?
普通班學生於高一升高二時可申請自高二起轉入IB班,申請轉入簡章於上學期公告於學校首頁。惟因國際文憑課程架構、授課方式、評量機制與課程內容與普通班課程差異極大,為確保學生了解國際文憑課程要求,且已具備一定程度之核心素養,轉入申請包含書面資料審查及部分學科考試,詳細內容以公告簡章為準。

請問國際文憑課程之授課語言為何?有語言能力的要求或限制嗎?
IB課程除了中國語言與文學及語言習得(華文)採中文授課外,其餘皆為英文授課,
且對於英文之聽說讀寫能力均有高度需求。故強烈建議報考學生之英語水平至少須達B1等級。
另外海攬班學生也需要上以中文授課之課程,故強烈建議學生之中文水平至少須達A2等級。

每學期的學雜費是多少?有其他額外的費用嗎?

依高級中等學校辦理實驗教育辦法規定之收費標準收取。
▶其他費用
如營隊、教材教具、外語教材書、報名國際文憑考試等額外費用則依實際需求向家長說明後收取。

就讀IB班或海攬班有沒有獎學金補助?
▶ IB班
提供清寒獎助學金,學生須屬低收入或中低收入戶家庭,並檢具相關證明向學校提出申請,由校方評估當年財務狀況及學生需求後予以部分或全額補助。
▶ 海攬班
沒有獎學金補助。

What is the difference between the IB class and the international class? Which one should I/my child sign up for?
Both the IB class and the International class will take the International Baccalaureate (IBDP) courses. The biggest difference lies in the different enrollment targets.
The enrollment target of the IB class is Taiwanese students;
the enrollment target of the international class is the children of overseas professionals.
Those who do not meet this qualification are not allowed to apply.
Example 1: Student A holds a passport from the United States (or other countries), but both parents are Taiwanese and do not have the status of a foreigner, they are not allowed to apply for the general class.
Example 2: Student B holds a U.S. (or other country) passport, one of his parents is a foreigner, but the foreign parent is not employed in Taiwan, or the job content does not meet the requirements of Article 4 of the "Foreign Professional Employment and Employment Law" (For example, an outside teacher in a cram school), you are not allowed to apply for the international class.
Simply put, as long as you are a Taiwanese student, you can apply for the IB class.

When and how can we enroll in the IB class or the International class?
■ Students applying for the IB class must first take the Junior High School Education Examination in May, and after the examination results are released, they will register for the school's "Special Enrollment Examination" with their scores (scores must be 2A3B or higher).
■ Students who enroll in the International class must prepare the application form and relevant documents from 4/1 to 7/1, and send it in person or mail to the International Affairs Department of our school for registration. Qualified candidates will be interviewed on 7/8, and the list of accepted students will be announced after the interview.

What is "International Baccalaureate Program"?
The full name of "International Baccalaureate" is International Baccalaureate (IB), which is a program offered by the International Baccalaureate Organization(IBO) to students worldwide. This learning system was originally designed for the children of diplomats and students who often change schools. It is hoped that through rigorous curriculum design, students' abilities and literacy can be cultivated so that these students can
Career Programme (CP)smoothly integrate into the educational system of various countries.
The IB course is divided into four stages according to age and learning progress, namely:
- Primary Year Programme (PYP)
- Middle Year Programme (MYP)
- Diploma Programme (DP)
- Career Programme (CP)

Why does your school introduce the "International Baccalaureate Program"(IBDP)?
The school was named "International" since it was founded. This is mainly due to the fact that the school is located in Taoyuan Aviation City, the capital of the country, and Taoyuan High-speed Railway Station is nearby, which connects north-south transportation. Therefore, the school is tasked to cultivate international talents through second language courses learning, expand students' foreign language ability. However, ten years after the school was established,it coincided with the reform of the 108 syllabus, Under the leadership of the school's principal Yuan-long Chu, after rethinking the meaning of international education, a deeper understanding of the abilities that education should start from the curriculum. The "International Baccalaureate Program" employs inquiry-based and conceptual learning approaches to cultivate students' literacy and abilities. Through the introduction of the International Baccalaureate program, it provides students in the Taoyuan area with another curriculum system and another learning pathway.

Is your "International Baccalaureate Diploma Program" accredited by the International Baccalaureate Organization ?
In March 2021, the school received authorization from the IB to offer the IB Diploma Programme.

How is your "International Baccalaureate Program" planned? What is the difference between the course content and regular classes?
The "International Baccalaureate Program" of our school adopts the two-year pre-university program (DP program) designed by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) for students aged 16-19.
For the 10th grade, the 108 National Curriculum is adopted as the framework, and the IB teaching style and assessment structure are used to cultivate core competencies and self-learning ability.
For the 11th and 12th grades, the IB program is implemented.
The following tables are the 3-year curriculum structure of our school.
The curriculum is made up of the DP core and six subject groups. DP core includes Creativity, Activity, and Service (CAS), Theory of Knowledge(TOK), and the Extended Essay (EE).
Each subject in the 6 subject groups has Standard Level (SL) and Higher Level(HL).
Students must take 3 courses at SL and 3 at HL, respectively.
Teaching hours of SL and HL courses reach 150 hours and 240 hours respectively.
Subjects offered for each year will differ based on number of students.

What is the assessment structure of IBDP?
Internal Assessment
Students are assessed by means of a variety of tasks, including examination papers, written assignments like essays, oral interviews, scientific and mathematical investigations, fieldwork projects, and artistic performances, which are completed by candidates at various times during their course.
Internal Assessment will be supervised, authorized, and marked by school teachers and then moderated by examiners assigned by IBO.
Internal Assessment accounts for 20%-30% of the total score.
Midterm and Final exams are conducted, and formative assessment assumes a critical part in the term score.
External Assessment
Students take the May examinations at school under strict regulations and supervision.
Exam papers are marked by IBO examiners.
External Assessment accounts for 70%-80% of total score.

What diploma will students earn on finishing the 3-year curriculum successfully?
Students will be awarded both the IB diploma and DYISH diploma if they meet the graduation requirements.
PATHWAYS to UNIVERSITIES

What are the pathways to college admission for IB class and International Class students?
Universities in Taiwan : students cannot participate in Stars Program since their assessment system is not aligned with the regular department. Students can apply for universities via Special Admission, Personal Application, and Admission by Examinations and Placement.
Universities overseas : support and information are provided by domestic and international organizations, professionals, and college countries. However, students need to prepare all the related documents and pay attention to the timeline.

Is IBDP helpful in preparing my kids for admission to foreign universities?
The purpose of implementing IBDP in our school is not primarily for admission to foreign universities, though obtaining an IB diploma does give students advantages of it.
IB students oftentimes demonstrate an excellent command of English, academic skills, and self-reliance, and hence IB diploma is a strong pathway to universities.
Some IB students can even waive credits in universities.
TRANSFER INs and OUTs

Can students of IB class and International Class transfer to regular classes?
IB class students can transfer to regular classes, but International Class students can't.

Are the credits earned in IB class transferrable too?
Yes. Credits can be transferred.

Can students of IB class and International Class transfer to another school?
Yes. Parents and students should make a decision after careful consideration and consult the new school for the transfer procedures and credit conversion.

If students study in the regular department in the 10rh grade, can they transfer to IB Class and International Class in 11th grade?
Grades 10 students in the regular department may apply to transfer to IB Class(DP1). Application guidelines will be announced on our school website in the first semester. In light of the huge differences in curriculum, teaching methodologies, assessment criteria, students from the regular department must have a good understanding of the IB requirements include written documents and paper examination. Please refer to the application guidelines for more details.

What is the language of instruction for IBDP? What are the language requirements for it?
All subjects offered except for Chinese A at our school are conducted in English; therefore, we strongly recommend that students who apply for IB Class and International Class reach CEFR B1 for English.
Additionally, International Class students have a Chinese course to be conducted in Chinese, so we strongly recommend that students who apply for International Class reach CEFR A2 for Chinese.

How much are the tuition and fees?
Tuition and Fees for IB class are specified in "IBDP Experimental Education Project of DYISH in 2021" and those for the International Class are based on the charging regulations for National Experimental High School in Science Parks.
Additional Mandatory Costs such as English textbooks, registration fees for IBDP examinationa, etc.are billed base on actual needs. Parents will be informed and provided sufficient information before the billing statement is sent.

Are there scholarships or students in IB class and International class?
IB class
Scholarships are given to applicants from low-income families or low/middle-income families in consideration of the financial status of our school and student needs.
International Class
Not applicable.

Is dorm an option for students?
Yes. A supervised dorm is available to all students in DYISH upon request. Up to 45 beds are offered.

➤ 學生在自主學習課就是自習嗎?
10 年級學生會有兩節自主學習,分別是週一與週四的第 7 節。學生可利用該時段自習、小組討論或進行 CAS:由於學期剛開始,學生尚未進入 CAS,故目前多以自習為主。
➤ IB 文憑取得標準為 24 分,這 24 分是否包含核心課程的 3 分?
是的,核心課程的 3 分也包含在 24 分之中。
至於核心課程的 3 分是如何取得,請自行於網上搜尋「TOK EE matrix」即可找到相關資訊。
➤ 萬一學生在全球考拿沒有取得 24 分,重考者全部都要重考是針對不滿意的科目重考?
針對不滿意之科目重考即可。
若有重考需求須透過 DP Coordinator 向 IBO 申請,每一科考科都須付費。
➤ 老師是否可以提早提供學生教材,讓學生事先準備?
老師會將教材上傳至 ManageBac 或 Google Classroom 等平台,但上傳時間由各科老師決定,學生若有需求可與老師討論。
➤ 學校是否可以提供學生 WIFI 以供課堂線上學習之用?
因資安因素,目前暫以學生自行準備網路。
➤ 若學生未能取得 IB 文憑,需要重考者的話,學校端會提供什麼協助?
在 DP2 大致之後,學生就會畢業。
針對有重考需求的學生,學校會協助向 IBO 申請考試,每一考科皆須付費。
➤ 學生目前 15:30 放學,也沒有第 8 節,學習時數夠嗎?
IB 學生目前沒有第 8 節,因課程彈性較高,學生需要多的時間消化和自主學習。
➤ 學生的自主學習課程(ATLs)有老師給學習規劃和選擇課程項目嗎?
IB 的自主學習課程需學生自行規劃執行,自主培養學生的學習技能;老師也已規劃了整學期的課程內容,學期第一週因平台使用需求,所以由 Carine 老師先進行了一節課進行 ManageBac 使用教學,第二週開始會由 Sibyl 老師進行自主學習課程之教學。
➤ 若疫情惡化,學校會有何應對措施?
本校會啟動線上同步及非同步課程,目前學生的書面及教材已透過 ManageBac 或 Google Classroom 來進行,實一啟動線上課程也可以順利衔接。
➤ 下課後可在圖書館學習嗎?
因疫情考量,目前本校圖書館開放時間為早上八點至下午五點。
➤ 之後 IB 課程選修科會有實驗室嗎?
本校有生物、物理及化學實驗室,IB 的自然科課程都需要做實驗。
➤ 學生在病假、學校會在學習上提供什麼協助?
學生可透過管理者、參與線上會議(Google Meet)的方式讓學生參與課程。
